Absolute World Towers
Absolute World is a striking residential condominium skyscraper complex located in Mississauga, Ontario in Canada. Its curving hourglass structural profile has given it a nickname the Marilyn Monroe Building. The twin towers are considered as currently the tallest buildings in the city of Mississauga.
Absolute World Towers History
Absolute World Towers got its first start when the mayor of the city announced in November 28, 2006 that an international design competition for the construction of the fourth tower of Absolute World aims to become the landmark tower for the whole complex. The design competition was the first time in 40 years that such a competition was held in the city. It attracted over 600 participants in over 70 countries. Eventually, around six were chosen as the finalists.
The finalists of the design competition created the final design submission for a tower that would be taller than 50 storeys and would become the tallest building in Mississauga when completed. The winning design came from Yansong Ma, founder of the MAD office in Beijing, China. The Absolute World Towers was constructed in June of 2007 and was completed in 2011.
